As the ideas manifest themselves in the studio, a unique collaboration between the artist,  the process and the nature of the materials takes place. A shift from the ordinary to the extraordinary is explored and sometimes enabled. Seeking to capture this elusive essence of the metaphysical is a driving force behind Lambert's work.

'THE STIMULUS'    1998

Cast on site at Franconia Sculpture Park using mud and sand to make a mold,  the form was built up out of the ground, and wax modeled over the inner core and covered with more mud. The wax was then melted out to create a negative space into which molten iron was cast. As the iron was poured, the mold bubbled like a mini volcano creating cause and effect burns which were left in place along with the marker.

Materials : Mud, Sand, Fire, Beeswax, Coke, Iron and Steel.
